SUBJECT: Hart Headlines

March 21st

It is hard to believe, but we are fast approaching the end of this school year. There are only 10 short weeks left! Our board has been busy preparing our final events and programs for this year as well as preparing for next year. Our nominating committee is working to fill open board positions. Our scholarship committee is searching for a worthy HES senior alumni who will benefit from a $500 college scholarship. Finally, our budget committee is scheduled to meet to plan for next year's financial needs.

We also look forward to seeing you at our next PTO General Membership meeting on Tuesday, April 6th at 10:30 am via Zoom. We will approve our new HES PTO officers for 2021-2022 and appoint a financial reconciliation committee for this year's budget. We will have one last General Membership meeting in May to present the projected budget and financials for next school year.

Don't forget that the deadline is approaching for our Recycling Contest. Please scroll down for more detailed information.

Hope everyone had an easy, restful weekend.

Dani

The Parent-Teacher Organizations in the Lovejoy Independent School District each will award one $500 scholarship to a college-bound senior graduating from Lovejoy High School in 2021. This centralized application means that each student completes the form ONCE, but is eligible for PTO scholarships through the Lovejoy schools they attended (plus the Lovejoy Council and Preschool PTO).

All student applicants (a) must have attended LHS during their sophomore, junior, and senior years; (b) belong to the LHS Parent-Teacher-Student Organization; (c) complete the online scholarship application, including the essays; (d) upload a resume; and (e) have one letters of recommendation submitted.

To begin the application process, students must complete a brief survey, located online at 2020-21 Scholarship INTENT TO APPLY. This survey, which requests their name and email address, indicates their intent to apply.

Once the above Intent to Apply survey is received, we will send the student a link to the online scholarship application. This link will allow students exit and return to the application in case they cannot complete it in one sitting.

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT FRIDAY APRIL 23, 2021.

Please email Shannon Verschage at LJCouncilScholarship@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding this application.
